What Does Conservation Mean?

Conservation is the wise and frugal use of natural resources that cannot be replenished like minerals, water, nutrients, animals and plants. It may also denote planned action to preserve both living resources and non living ones. It therefore entails the usage of precious resources in a manner that ensures that future generations will have access to them.

The conservation movement is a movement that is keen on protecting animals and plants and their respective habitats. A conservationist is a person dedicated to conservation. There are many forms of conservation like art, energy and heritage conservation to name a few.

There are several organizations that are devoted to conservation. They may be devoted to the conservation of a monument or monuments, a particular culture or even the heritage of a particular place. A conservation architect is an integral part of the conservation of a monument since he/she will study the architecture of the structure and then propose the necessary modifications, maintaining a balance between the preservation of the distinctive features of the structure and strengthening it at the same time.
