    The big county of Wiltshire has its home the southern part of England and can be located in South West England Region. This landlocked county is only a ceremonial one and shares border with Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Along with these bordering counties, Wiltshire forms the governing body called unitary authority of Swindon.

    The county town of the area is Trowbridge and the total area on which the county is stretched is 3,485 square kilometres. The population of the area as estimated in the year 2005 was 630,700. Some of the characteristic that make the area so special are the high downland and the wide valleys. Salisbury is also a beautiful location which is the site of the Stonehenge and of other ancient landmarks. Its cathedral is a notable feature among the prime places in Salisbury.
