What Was Voted As Britain's Best Sitcom?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It was 'Only Fools and Horses' that was voted as Britain's Best Sitcom, with 342,426 votes. Already popular, viewers were not surprised that it came top. Viewers were, however, surprised at Vicar of Dibley achieving such a high position, and some were surprised at certain comedies being voted lower, such as great comedies like Fawlty Towers.

The top ten was as follows:

    1. Only Fools and Horses
    2. Blackadder
    3. The Vicar of Dibley
    4. Dad's Army
    5. Fawlty Towers
    6. Yes Minister/Yes, Prime Minister
    7. Porridge
    8. Open All Hours
    9. The Good Life
    10. One Foot in the Grave

Other comedies which were voted into the poll include Red Dwarf, My Family, Men Behaving Badly, Keeping Up Appearances, The Thin Blue Line, I'm Alan Partridge, Birds of a Feather, Bread, 'Allo 'Allo, Last of the Summer Wine and many other great comedies.
