What Is The Process Of Proton Collision?

This is part of the latest advance Physics that is being carried out in England. Do correct me if I am wrong as that's all the more I am inquisitive to know the answer for this one. Please elaborate and provide as much detailed information to substantiate the question.

    There have been a number of experiments on this subject. Latest research has revealed that the cross section of the elastic proton-proton collision diminishes gradually with the energy. Also the angular distribution has a sharp forward directed maximum. That is interpreted as the shadow scattering.
