Who Is Nick Hornby?

    Born 17 April 1957, Nick Horby is an English author. His first book, 'Fever Pitch', was published in 1992, and tells the story of Hornby's support of Arsenal Football Club. It sold over a million copies in the UK, and won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year in 1992.

    'High Fidelity', Hornby's second book, was published in 1995, and his third book, 'About a Boy', was published in 1998.

    There have been film adaptations of all three of these novels (Fever Pitch in 1997, High Fidelity in 200 and About a Boy in 2000). Another film version of Fever Pitch was released in 2005.

    Hornby attended Maidenhead Grammar School and studied English Literature at Cambridge University. He was an English teacher at Parkside Community College.

    Hornby's career as a freelance jounalist and author began in 1983. He achieved the E.M. Forster Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
