Not a Butlins redcoat - Brian Conley was in fact a Pontins Bluecoat. (Pontins is very similar to Butlins, though not quite so well known.) He went there in 1977 at the age of 16, and by 1982 had begun his TV career. His first TV appearance was on a game show, "Make Me Laugh."
