The best part about aluminium siding is that it is virtually maintenance-free. However it is not a bad idea to make sure that it looks like a million bucks and lasts for a long time. You should cleaning your siding once every year and repaint it whenever needed, preferably with a spray paint. In fact, it is nice to repaint your aluminium siding when you see signs of chalking or oxidation, which in turn happens due to weathering.

While cleaning aluminium, use a pressure washer or a good hose. Mix 1/3 cup of laundry detergent with 6 gallons of water, and you've made a cleaning solution that can get rid off most dirt and muck. When you are using a pressure washer, exert a low pressure lest the aluminium can be dented. Clean the siding with a soft-bristled brush and then use the hose.
