If the test is properly constructed, administered, scored, and calibrated, the average person will have an IQ of 100. An IQ of 120 on such a test will be higher than that achieved by about 90.5% of the population. It will put you (barely) in the top 10% of test scores. Whether you consider this "good" or not depends entirely on your own goals and self-image. Either way, you should recognize that an IQ test does not necessarily measure anything important.

Actually, 100 is the average IQ score. So, having a 120 IQ score indicates that you are above average but not genius. As, one of my professor states, "111 to 120 IQ score indicates a typical educability of a college master's level and an employment options of manager, teacher or accountant". Happy now?
