Does A Diseased Gallbladder Cause What Seems To Be Coffee Grounds In Vomit?

I have a 19 1/2 week pregnant friend who has severe nausea and quite a bit of vomiting. She is vomiting up something that is dark in color and looks like coffee grounds. Could this be the gallbladder and what would be the appropriate test.

Vomiting is the ejection of stomach contents through mouth due to any reason. The gall bladder also cause vomiting with some other symptoms. The diagnosis of the gall bladder problems is done by blood tests and cholecystography. But this can not be done during pregnancy. The vomiting can also be due to pregnancy. There is need of differential diagnosis. Wait up to delivery.

The best thing to do would be to get to the doctor right away. What you could be mistaking for coffee grounds, could in fact be blood, of course this isn't a good thing to be happening.
You don't know for sure that it is the gallbladder, so take the advice, get to the doctor, and make sure that everything is o.k. With the baby. Hope this helps, good luck.

The answer is yes and no.  A diseased gall bladder causes a lot of pain after eating and causes severe nausea and sometimes vomiting.
Coffee grounds are caused by bleeding in the digestive track.  This can be from many sources and your friend needs to call her OB and see them immediately.
Severe vomiting can lead to severe abdominal cramps that can lead to premature labor.  This is a crisis that can affect both mother and baby.
        Wish I had better news.

Vomiting anything that looks like coffee grounds warrants a quick trip to your Dr.  When I had stomach problems I was told that anything coffee ground looking was from bleeding.  From an ulcer or other gastric problem.  Seek Medical attention.
