Denekamp is a town situated in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a division of Dinkelland it is placed nine kilometers northeast of Oldenzaal. The town first came in to being around the 10th century when it was known as Daginghem. This area was later transformed in to a municipality in 1840 after adding places like Noord Deurningen, Lattrop, Breklenkamp, Tilligte, Nutter and Agelo to it.
In the year 2001 there were around two thousand nine hundred and ninety residents in a total area of 2.2 kilometres. The numerical area "Denekamp" which can also comprise of secondary parts of the village, as well as the neighboring countryside, has a total population of eight thousand six hundred and ninety. Some famous people from Denekamp are Romeo Dallaire, who is the Canadian senator and Hennie Kuiper who was a world champion cyclist.
