I live in Orlando--if you are going in the summer, be prepared to be HOT! The humidity is almost unbearable. We often get a thunderstorm in the late afternoon, so bring an umbrella or poncho. I have been to Disney World many times, but I'm not a big fan of theme parks. Will you be bringing kids? What ages?

You don't want to bring anything too heavy. A light backpack would be good. I'd put a plastic rain poncho or two in there as well as some bottles of water. If you're staying nearby, you may want to do what a lot of people do and go to the park early, then go home around 4 to rest up and come back after dinner for the evening. If your daughter likes animals, don't forget to visit Animal Kingdom. Sea World is good, too. I like Epcot, but it's more adult-friendly than kid-friendly. Oh, and get "Fast Passes" for the popular rides. You can get those at kiosks in front of the ride. You slip your ticket in the kiosk and get a pass to come back at a particular time. It's great, because you won't have to wait in the hot sun. Not all rides have fast passes, but some that do are Test Track at Epcot, Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, and the Rockin' Roller Coaster at MGM (which I think might be called Disney Studios now).

I  have visited Walt Disney World many times.
My personal favorites are MGM studios and Epcot Center, but it just doesn't get any better than the Magic Kingdom at Christmas.

Your daughter will probably love all the parks.

Taking a backpack in with you is a good idea, maybe pack a few sandwiches and snacks in it. The food there is a bit pricey. You can also get a locker when you first come in to store whatever you don't want to lug around with you. Cost about 75 cents.
