The task function for the leader to take care of include deciding what tasks you are going to try to accomplish, deciding how you are going to discuss issues and deciding how you are going to reach a decision. To decide what tasks will be covered the chair must prepear an agenda. An agenda is not like a shopping list, everything you can think of the top of your head. Instead the agenda is a written plan for what you want to accomplish at the meeting. Here are some considerations to keep in mind as you prepare the agenda.

First think about timing. Almost all the experts agree that meetings should not run over two hours. For example as Anthony Jay states in the Harvard Business Review, "Very few business meetings achieve anything of value after two hours and an hour and a hold is enough time to allocate for most purposes. Therefore include both the scheduled finishing time as well as the starting time besides delineating the time for the meeting remembers the audience memory curve. Second think about the content of agenda items. Include only those items that are consistent with the task or tasks you are trying to accomplish.
