Is It OK To Name A Boy Qasim Being That It Was Prophet Muhammad's Son?

I just wanted to know if Qasim alone was appropriate to name a son being that he was Prophet Muhammad's son. I`ve heard a lot of different things, like since he was his son the suitable name would then be Muhammad Qasim, which is why I'm curious and wondering!

Well, According to my knowledge of Islam, there is nothing wrong with keeping this name for your son. When people can name their sons Muhammad, why cant they name their sons on the name of the Prophet's (S.A.W) Son. However, for respect's sake, if you want you can add Muhammad or Abdul to it.
