A small village in the low-lying county of Norfolk is attributed with the name Thorpe Market. You can locate Norfolk in the East of England region in the United Kingdom.

The village has quite old history and it is even mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. It was a farming village then but when in the year 1275 the lord of Manor Pauline Peyvere granted the right to organise a market, the suffix 'Market' was added to it.

In the 19th century the village was run as an estate village and the large tenant farms became the core of the local economy. In that century it also gained a school and a railway station. Though the commuters were sparse, the building of the station can certainly be termed as magnificent.

In the 20th century the village got other prominent features of it like Post Office and a Methodist chapel.
