Depending on the floor type you plan on installing, you may not need to remove your old vinyl floors. If free from cracks, dips and grooves, vinyl flooring can serve as a subfloor to new flooring. If you still plan on completely removing your vinyl floors, make sure you check for asbestos before doing so. Vinyl flooring that contains asbestos should be removed by a flooring professional to ensure safety. For best floor removal instructions, check with the manufacturer where you first purchased the flooring.
