What's A Goldfish?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A goldfish is a species of fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, which also includes common tropical fish such as Tiger barbs (Puntius tetrazona), along with the common varieties of common carp such as Koi.

Goldfish are often selectively bred to produce different strains such as Fantails and Orandas. The common varieties of goldfish are capable of growing to 30cm/12" in length, so a large tank or pond with a suitable filtration system is a must.
