Get an active brain cell! If the dog is not peeing a normal color urine, then take him/her to a Vet. DaH! The dog may have a bladder infection or worse and your to busy asking stupid questions like, "What causes this?" You think that dog appreciates you letting him/her suffer because you want to ask stupid questions? If things don't seem right to you, then take the problem to someone who can help you, like picking up the phone and asking a Vet!!

It's most likely caused by a urinary tract infection (UTI), but there are other more serious conditions that could be the cause as well.  Either way you need to take a trip to the vet.

      Hello.
Just like humans dogs can get bladder infections, and sometimes bladder stones. Either way this dog will need an antibiotic. Collect a urine sample and take it to your vet as soon as poss. If the dog is unable to urinate all together, that is an emergency and the dog or cat could die without treatment. Thanks.
