What Are The Likely Causes And Treatments Of Potentially Fatal Eye Discharge In Kittens?

I've lost several barn kittens to eye infections. Is it likely to be distemper or what are the other possibilities; i.e. what are common causes of eye discharge? The mother has been given shots, but the kittens are too young.

You should take at least one of them to the vet, and have the veterinarian prescribe the proper medicine for all of them. I'm a cat lover, and I cry at the thought of a cat suffering, please don't make them suffer. Hope this helps.

I would call your vet and see if you could get some amoxicillin and give them just a little for a week or so.  The only other thing that I know of is to keep their eyes clean with a warm wet washcloth.

There are so many diseases, possibly herpes virus in eyes,or if you have lots of cats maybe upper respirators is going around, but sounds like baby needs a vet.
