    The local street layout of Brighton had changed as the council building had been replaced, and they now stretch from the bottom of Albion hill to the tower blocks at Mount Pleasant, these include Tarnerland near Richmond Street. The growth of the regency period has characterized the highly fashionable of Brighton, quiet lately. The local set up of the area has been kept up in North Laine. Brighton and Hove have been given the title of "city status" by the queen only once it came together as the unitary authority of Brighton and Hove. This change in the status of Hove that has brought about a change in the development of hove and Brighton as a city, had taken place in the year 2000.
