How Do You Get Into Estate Agency?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are many different kinds of jobs that relate to real estate. Some examples are: title insurance, construction, mortgage banking, property management, real estate appraisals, brokerage and leasing, and real estate development. Over a third of the wealth in the world is in real estate.

Regulations vary around the world about what is required to become a real estate agent. Usually some type of accreditation or licence is required, which is achieved through training and work experience. Most real estate agents work partly on a commission basis - they receive a percentage payment of the houses they sell.

In the UK, many estate agencies take on new graduates for on-the-job learning. If you have no experience in real estate, consider applying for a job as a receptionist or administrator first. This will give you valuable experience of the business. Real estate agencies look for job seekers who have good organizational, sales,  and communication skills and are well-presented.
