Why Would The Mother Cat Only Move One Baby?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

First I need to know how many kittens she had and how old the mother is. My cat was only 6 months old when I went to the hospital and left her with a friend. She got pregnant from my friends cat and had 5 kittens. She gave an older female cat that my friend owned one of her kittens because my cat was not really old enough to be a mother.  Also check the health of the kittens.
One of them may be sick, either the one she moved or the ones she did not move.  I know that vet bills can be costly but the local SPCA of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC animals (if you live in NYC)  can and usually will help with the cost.  If the mothers has not been wormed. The babies will be born with worms. Tape worms come from swallowing fleas when cleaning themselves. Write back and let me know how they are doing.
