Where Is Alton Towers?

Alton Towers is located north of the village of Alton in the county of Staffordshire in England. It is the most famous theme park in the United Kingdom. It has been an amusement park since the year 1980. The theme park was owned by the Tussauds Group between 1990 and 2005. In 2005, the Dubai International Capital, an investment group, took over the Tussauds Group, as a result of which they also acquired the ownership of the theme park.

It was a garden in the early 19th century. It was then known as the Alton Towers garden and started by the 15th Earl of Shrewsbury. The Alton Towers amusement park is in operation only for seven months of the year, that is between the months of March and October. It is spread over an area of approximately 500 acres. The park has 33 attractions in all, including eight roller coasters and two water rides.
