What Adaptations Do Plants And Animals Have To Survive In The Rain Forest?

Answer Question

Too many to cover them all, but a few big ones include:

-a strong immune system that allows the animals to get wet with little or no ill effect

-large animals have excellent maneuverability but relatively slow speed. Examples include orangutans, deer, jaguar, etc- all are very agile creatures, but in the rainforest, there is no straight path for them to run, and so they are all adapted to turning very fast.

-a lot of animals have interesting poisons or immunities to poisons.  Arrow frogs are an example, they produce no poison themselves, but get their poison from the ants they eat.

-the plants all have some way of dealing with the moisture, for example, having large, waxy leaves with points on the end, making it easy for water to run off

-all the plants and animals have a built-in resistance to hippies, and virtually no healthy animal will approach any human, much less one who smells like a combination of urine and marijuana, and several predators have been noted, especially in south and southeast asia, to follow the smell of  marijuana because it means stupid humans are about, which make easy prey.
