My puppie will be 1yr next month and she has started to lick between her legs alot and she's a bit swollen pls help explain this to me

She is coming into her first "season". She will show a discharge, which is probably why she is cleaning herself so much. The swelling is normal for a bitch dog in season, and it is also normal for the discharge to look bloody. She is too young to have puppies so you must keep her away from all male dogs, and keep her on the lead when you exercise her, and ensure that your garden is escape-proof. All her instincts will be telling her to find a male dog, and all THEIR instincts will be telling them to find her! This is why people who do not wish to breed pups have their bitches spayed (neutered).
