I Found A Snake In My Yard Running The Side Of The House. He Was A Pretty Bright Black With Small Line Of Yellow Running Side Ways On His Body. What Type Is This?

Are that harmful? I found him in my back yard. I live in the Oxford Ga.

If there are more than one stripe, the snake is probably the common garder snake. These are not harmful, but yes they may bite you and their bite is like the prick of a needle. They also excrete a nasty smelling goo if threatened. They are not poisonous and are generally more afraid of you than you are of them.
