A match lasts 2x 35 minutes. In some tournament forms, extra time may be needed if scores are level. Extra time lasts 2x 7,5 minutes. Normally extra time is played with the golden goal rule.
If after the extra time there's still no winner, penalty strokes will be taken. The EHL (european hockey league) uses a shoot-out in these situations.
