Battery hens have a cruel life in store for them. Crammed four to a cage, with no way to stretch, or move around freely. Never will they see the sunlight or dust bathe, or feel a true nest under them to lay their eggs in. Being pecked by the other hens in the cages and just plain doomed to a life of misery. Egg production is important, but I think someone can find a way to get eggs without making the chickens suffer.
