They worshiped Hera because she helped mortals, humans, with marrage and helped woman with childbirth. But Hera also explaned why we have earthquackes. See Zeus was a ladies man and cheated on Hera with other girls. So one day Zeus cheated on Hera real badly and hera got so mad that it shoke the earth, making an earthquake.
