I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, however .....

If 5 x 6 = 30, this effectively is telling you that five groups of six items combined is equal to 30.  Finding the products of 6 x 6 is asking you what is six groups of six combined.

If 5 + 1 = 6 then five groups of something + 1 group of the same thing is six groups of the same thing.

This means that 5 x 6 = 30

  (5 x 6) + (1 x 6) = 30 + 6

  five groups of six plus one group of six = 30 + 6

Hope this helps

6 = 5+1    (regroup 6 using 5 as one of the parts)

6*6 = (5+1)*6 = 5*6 + 6    (use the distributive property)

6*6 = 30 + 6 = 36    (use the 5-fact to compute the answer to the 6-problem)
