The Eiffel Tower basically is an tower made of iron placed on the Champ de Mars next to River Seine in Paris. It is the biggest structure length wise in Paris and is famous world over. The tower was named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffle. The tower is one of the most famous tourist destinations, with a record 6,428,441 people came to see the tower in the year 2005. The tower is around 300 m in height with a 20.75m antenna.

The structure was finished in the year 1889, and the tower replaced the Washington Monument as the biggest structure length wise in the world. In the year 1902 lightning struck the monument, resulting in three hundred feet of the structure being built again. The lights which used to light up the tower also had to be changed because of short-circuit.
