What Is The Slope Of The Linear Equation 6x-5y=10?

Answer Question

    You can find the slope by solving for y.

    6x - 5y = 10
    -5y = -6x + 10    (subtract 6x from both sides)
    y = (-6/-5)x + 10/-5    (divide both sides by -5)
    y = (6/5)x - 2

    The slope is 6/5, the coefficient of x when the equation is in this form.
    _____
    When the equation is in standard form, as it was to start with
    ax + by = c

    The slope is -a/b. That would be (-6/-5) = (6/5).
