Do You Think The Cajun And Creole Peoples Of Louisiana Should Be Independent Of The US?

Answer Question

Absolutely not, they are part of the rich fabric of cultures and races that make up this country. Not only that but we purchased the land free and clear from the French, if they wanted to seperate from the US and be independent they should have done so a long time ago. Most of the Cajuns and Creole are not of a pure racial line anyway, they are mixed with native american, caribbean, French, Spanish and all other types of peoples that inhabited the Louisiana area throughout history they are not so much ethnicities as they are local cultures. It might be like asking if american italians in New York should separate and be given their own country. Why would they even have a credible reason to separate, where would they go if they did, and do you truly believe that they could be self supporting?

They COULD DEFINITELY be self-supporting. They could charge tolls for the use of the Mississippi, produce much of the nation's rice, and also refine much of its fuel, in addition to being a major port and tourist attraction. So yes, I think it could definitely sustain itself.

Yes, perhaps Louisianna may be able to be self supportive but you did not ask that. You specified the Cajuns and Creoles, which I do not believe that they alone could be self sufficient.
