The planet's nameJupiter was inspired by the Roman god known as Jove or Jupiter. This planet had been discovered by ancient Roman Astronomers. He was the king of all Roman Pantheon, besides being the God of sky and thunder. He was the equivalent of the Greek God Zeus. Iuppiter was the Roman word for it which meant "father god of the best and the greatest". Jupiter was considered a patron God of the Roman empire and responsible for social order.

Jupiter is basically the fifth planet from the sun and also the largest that belongs to the family of the solar system. It is also known as the "Jovian planets". It is also very well spotted as the fourth brightest object in the sky. But at times one may even find mars to be much brighter than Jupiter.
The size of Jupiter is approximately 2.5 times bigger than any other planets. In terms of diameter it stands as being 318 times more massive than Earth. It is also known as the vacuum cleaner of the solar system this is due to the gravity well that it contains. It is also very visible in the night with a naked eye. Some sources claim that this planet has derived its name from the Roman God named Jupiter.
