Problem is that dogs find it hard to just have a sip of water. So the standard advice for vomiting dogs is to give no food or water for 6 hours after the last vomiting episode, and then start giving very small amounts of water fairly frequently. Proceed like this for a minimum of 12 hours, slowly increasing the amount of water to the point where the dog is drinking as much as they like.
