    If A(1,4) & B(-3,2) And C(x,y) Is A Third Point Such That Line AC Is Equal To Line BC, Use The Distance Formula To Find And Simplify An Equation Involving X And Y?

    I am not sure how to solve this and my teacher in school does not help me understand it and I was wondering if someone on this site could help me by showing be how to do and sort of do a step by step instruction to the answer.

    Distance formula is the Square root of (Y2-Y1)+(X2-X1)
    ===============================

    lets first calculate the distance from A to C

    AC = Square root of (Y2-Y1)+(X2-X1)
    = Square root of (y-4)+(x-1)

    BC = Square root of (Y2-Y1)+(X2-X1)
    = Square root of (y-2)+[ x-(-3) ]
    = Square root of (y-2)+[ x + 3]
    = Square root of y-2+x+3
    = Square root of x+y+1
