Do Birds Hold Their Eggs Before They Lay Them? If So How Can You Tell?

Answer Question

No birds do not hold their eggs before they lay them.  At, times just before the hen lays an egg, a slight bulge or swelling may be seen just before the tail area. This is the egg that is just to be laid.  All eggs, when first laid, have a very soft shell which hardens shortly after being laid.
