Answer Question

A Pegasus crossing is also known as Equestrian Crossing. It is basically a pedestrian crossing in the United Kingdom. This crossing gives speacial attention for horse riders. The name pegasus is derived from the mythical winged horse.

Generally, it is a pelican crossing (PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled crossing), which has two control panels. One panel is at the average pedestrian height and the other panel is approximately two meters above the surface. This panel is used by the mounted riders. In order to protect the horse from the ongoing traffic, there is an additional protection of wooden safety fence and this crossing is much more wider than the usual one. There is also a toucan crossing, which is situtated along the pegasus crossing, for cyclist and pedestraints.
