What Are The Different Hockey Positions And What Do They Mean?

I still can't figure out anything but the defense position and the goalie of course and I would better understand the game if these were explained to me..

    There are three hockey positions. First one is center. The job of the center is to generate the offense and distribute passes to the wings. Other positions are right and left wings. They play most of the shots. Next position is defense. Their job is hinder opposition's center and wings positions. They restrict them from hitting close shots. Goalie's job is to prevent the opposition from scoring goal. He is also called as goal keeper.
