What Museums Are There To Visit In The Reading And Newbury Area?

    There are several museums that one could visit in the Reading and Newbury area like the Museum of Reading, The Museum of English Rural Life, Stratfield Saye House, The Ure Museum of Greek Archeology, West Berkshire Museum, Highclere Castle and Thames Valley Police Museum.

    The Museum of English Rural Life and The Ure Museum of Greek Archeology are located on the campus of the University of Reading. The museum of Reading is located near to the Reading railway station at walking distance. The West Berkshire Museum is located in the centre of Newbury near to the market place and next to the Library.

    Some of the noteworthy exhibits are the Greek ceramics and Egyptian artifacts collection in the Ure Museum, paintings and antique furniture collection at Stratfield Saye, Highclere Castle of the Carnarvons a museum in itself, the replica of the Bayeux Tapestry, the Roman Silchester and Natural History Collection at the Museum of Reading, and the Archeology and Art collection of the West Berkshire Museum among others.
