Food Hide and seek. Played with them in the cage (feed the bars) or outside of it.
The games below you really need the rat running loose in a room to play. And they don't work well with a rat who has a biting habit!
Chase: Ideally you have a carpet, rug or wooden floor. But if the floor is really quiet (e.g., Linoleum) you can use a flattened cardboard box.
Drag your hand along the floor, either scratching the carpet or tapping as the hand moves. This sounds like another rat running around and will attract your pet. Let your pet chase your hand a bit, then turn on your pet and do a little cuddle or let the rat leap on the hand and be the "winner" (dominant one). Repeat until rat loses interest.
String, just like you play with a kitten. Dangle a string and let the rat grab onto it and try to drag it off. Let them win sometimes, then start over again.
Obstacle course, with food rewards for each obstacle conquered.
More variations on the basic games described above, involving balloons, blowing, vacuum cleaners, digging out of blankets, hide and seek under the bed, etc.!
