Where Is Paraparaauma In New Zealand?

Paraparaumu is located on the North Island of New Zealand. It and Paraparaumu Beach form partner or sister towns and are located in the area of Kapiti Coast district. Wellington the Capitaal of New Zealand is located fifty kilometers south of Paraparaumu. New Zealand is located in the South West Pacific ocean, to the east of Australia.

The two towns of Paraparaumu and Paraparaumu Beach are commuter towns that have people traveling back and forth from Wellington.

The towns name comes from the Maori. The name is abbreviated for ease of pronouncement by the locals to "Pram".

Paraparauma Beach is located on the coast and is directly opposite Kapati Island. Paraparauma Beach has a Golf Club which is very famous. There are also flying clubs located at Paraparaumo airport. The town being so close to Wellington acts as a recreation destination for residents of Wellington.
