My Supervisor Signed My Time Sheet And Told The Boss He Didn't Sign It! So My Boss Fired/laid Me Off! Is Unauthorized Overtime A Good Reason To Be Fired From Your Job?

I work through a temp agency and through them have been working at this company for the past 18 months. My boss at this company let me go because the supervisor accused me of signature fraud. The temp agency started an investigation. Turns out that I was not guilty and and they are willing to back me up. So the boss/company told them I was let go for unauthorized overtime. Should I talk to a lawyer about this or should I just let this go and move on?

It wasn't a big problem on which you fire a person. The investigation should be completed first then the decision should be made. Now when the situation is clear, now you should talk to the lawyer. You can sue the person. You should use your right. You are falsely accused.

This sounds very hazy as far as the reason you were fired. Unauthorized overtime can mean that your super did not have the authority to grant the overtime. It also sounds as though there is another form that you needed to have signed to approve the overtime before you worked it. You would really need for them to clarify why the let you go but the fact is, that is why they use temp agencies as they do not have to have a valid reason to let you go. Just a 'we no longer need this person' will suffice and you should then be assigned to another job.
