    Royal Air Force (RA) Scampton is a located in the tiny village of Scampton, to the north of Lincoln in England. At the time of World War 1, this place used to serve as a landing field. It was first formed by the Dambusters' 617 Squadro.

    The RAF played a very critical told in Operation Chastise because it was from here that the Wing Commander; a gentleman by the name of Guy Gibson led the attack on the Ruhr Valley dams. For this he was also awarded with a very prestigious honor, the Cross. It used to be protected and guarded by Lancaster Bomber but today all these have been moved to heritage museums. Scampton is infamous for being the seat of the Vulcan Bomber during the Cold War era in the 50'6 and the 60's.
