    Can The Rent Increase Every Two Months On A Month To Month Lease?

    At then end of my yearly lease, I went for a month to month lease with the apt complex. They increased the rent $130.00 beginnning in October. The landlord says I have to give her 60 days notice. Well today, i got another notice saying my lease is about to expire, and come december 1st, i have to pay another $100.oo a month. Can she do that, or can I just termionate and leave by then.

    She can change the rent every time you get a new lease. However, you have the option to leave when your lease expires. If you haven't signed anything, you need to give thirty days notice. If you've signed something that promises you'll give more notice, you need to obey that. The sooner you give notice, the sooner you can move, if that's your intent.
