The song "Thriller" never made to No.1 on the US singles charts, only climbing to No.4.
The album (released November 30, 1982), however, spent 22 non-consecutive weeks at the top of Billboard's Top 200 chart for 1983, plus 15 more consecutive weeks in 1984.
It's still No.1 as being the only album to be the top selling album for 2 years (1983 & 1984),
It's still No.1 as the best selling album of all time (estimated at over 109 million copies), and as of 2008 is still estimated to sell over 130,000 copies per year.
