What Can You Tell Me About The Movie "Where The Heart Is"�?

"Where the Heart Is" basically is a well known movie released in the year 2000. The movie was directed by Matt William and was produced by Susan Cartsonis, David McFadzean, Patricia Whitcher and Matt Williams.

The movie had Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd in the lead. The screenplay of the movie was penned by Lowell Ganz, taking inspiration from the best selling novel of the same name which was written by Billie Letts. The movie was mainly shot in Waco, TX.

The film generated revenue worth $8,292,939 in its opening weekend and went on to make $33,772,838 in America alone. The movie generated international revenues worth $7,090,880. The DVD of the movie was launched soon after its release and included an additional music video along with a theatrical trailer.

WHERE THE HEART IS tells the story of Novalee, a pregnant 17-year-old girl from Tennessee who gets abandoned by her creep of a boyfriend on their way to California.  She starts living in a Wal-Mart store (in Texas or Oklahoma, I believe), and she has her baby in the store. and becomes the subject of considerable media attention.  Along the way, she meets a number of people, some of whom help her straighten out her life.

The main thing about this movie that I remember from the reviews was critic Elvis Mitchell's description of the two main actresses, Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd.  Mitchell called them "both...traffic-stoppingly hot," and I am hard pressed to disagree.  Hubba hubba.

She has the famous Wal-Mart baby. She meets Sister brother and falls in love with a  book store dude.
Her friend gets abused and her baby is stolen.
Her ex-boyfriend has a song on the radio but gets exploited like the looser he is.
I admire the book store guy for taking care of his sister as long as he did.
