Syntax is very important in a language. A language is incomplete with out syntax.
A level in the analysis of a language is called syntax. It is the study of "sentence-building", i.e., the ways in which words are arranged or put together to form sentences. Syntax is concerned with the analysis of sentences. It is also called the grammar of sentences.
A sentence may be analyzed into syntactic units like clauses and phrases, and construction and constituents. Besides the traditional model of parts of speech analysis, there are various systems of syntactic analysis such as the immediate constituent analysis, phrase structure grammar, transformational generative grammar, systemic grammar, transformation grammar and tagmemics. Under the parts of speech analysis, a sentence is analyzed into six large classed of nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and particles. Each of them has further categories.
For example, the categories found with noun, pronouns, and adjectives are number, gender and case. Similarly, verbs have the categories of voice, tense, aspect, mood, person and number. Particles include prepositions, conjunctions, and interjection. These are also called "indeclinable."
The child knows no language and he learns it over a long period of time. He begins learning of language by making various isolated sound like Ma-Ma. Pa-Pa etc. Finally he acquires she speech sounds of his group by imitation. He also learns grammatical constructions of the language by imitation.
