Home Alone is a comedy, which tells the story of Kevin McCallister, an 8 year old boy who is left alone when his family go on holiday and accidentally leave him behind.

Kevin is fed up with being blamed for everything that happens in his family, and wishes that they would all disappear. He and his family are due to spend Christmas in France, much to Kevin's dislike.

On the morning that they are due to leave, Kevin's family are in a rush as their alarm clock goes off late. They finally make it to the airport, not realising that they have left Kevin behind. Kevin is left behind as a result of having to sleep on the third floor as a punishment for an incident with his brother Buzz, that took place the night before. Because he was on the third floor, Kevin was left sleeping whilst his family rushed off to the airport.

Kevin's mum, Kate, finally realises that Kevin is missing whilst she is on the plane. Kevin, however, has a whale of a time back at home, thinking that he has made his family disappear due to his wish the night before. However, things start to go wrong when Kevin encounters two burglars, Harry and Marv, who have their eye on the house. Harry made the house a target before Kevin's family went away, when he posed as a policeman checking up on people's homes, his main intention being to find out when the family would be leaving the house empty.

Kevin tries to pretend that his family are back home to drive Harry and Marv away, but fails when they discover that he is actually on his own. Kevin overhears them discussing when they will arrive to burgle the house, and sets a series of traps around the house to capture them.

Meanwhile, Kevin's mum Kate has managed to find a way to get back home, after recieving an offer to be given transport back.

In the end, Harry and Marv are captured, and Kevin is reunited with his family, who are impressed at his ability to look after himself, apart from his brother Buzz, who is furious that Kevin has wrecked his room whilst they were away.

Its a really bad movie and honestly there's no real way to tell the difference between one and two.  Its about a little boy who is forgotten by his family on Christmas and is left in the house by himself.  Then these two robbers come along and the little boy beats them up sending them to jail only for them to return in the second one.   In the end he's reunited with this family and all is good.
