If you are using 15 amp breaker 12 amps is all that you can wire for.  With 20 amp., you can use up to 16 amps.  To day electronics in each room and light and clock radios it is better to go with a20 amp circuit and use no less than 12-2 with ground.  It will have a yellow covering.when looking for watts that volts x amps =watts.  12o volts x 20 amps =2400 watts.  0r 1920 watts.  Which is 19, 100 watt light bulbs. Different devices have different wattages.Normally in a bedroom that is 12 x 12 you would be able to put approximately5 to 6 receptacles in that room.  From any opening that breaks the wall at the floor if you have at least 2 feet of usable wall space you will put 1 recept., and 6 feet Fromm the door put the first recept., then 1 feet thereafter. That is the minimum.
