The cloning process is a direct consequence of embryo experimentation and research, as it aims to create a human life by such an artificial process. It would be even more controversial than IVF, in that the cloning process does not involve the natural way a human life is created, by the fertilisation of the sperm and egg of the parents. The child would maybe considered to be a monster, something against nature.

The fact that the being would not be created by normal means of creation, it would inevitably mean that the 'clone' would not have distinct, biological parents. There is also the view that the individual would not process a soul or a clear conscience, as natural genetic features from a mother and father would not be present. Questions should also be raised over whether a human clone would be born with severe genetic defects, or life threatening diseases.
